Resume

I grew up in Lawrenceburg, Indiana but have lived in the Greater Cincinnati area for the past six years. I am both a Pi Beta Phi and University of Cincinnati alumna, and will be graduating this August with a Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Cincinnati.

I have always loved music and grew up singing in my school’s choir and participated in numerous musicals. I thoroughly enjoy exercising, and yoga, Pilates, and hiking are some of my favorite activities.  I love to travel and explore new places, and I have been fortunate enough to study abroad in Greece and Liberia, Costa Rica.

Community service has always been at the center of my life, and I have been involved with several wonderful organizations including Opening Minds through Art, InRETURN, Christ Hospital, Champions Are Readers, The Hearing Speech and Deaf Center of Greater Cincinnati, and University of Cincinnati’s Early Learning Center .

I had always struggled to determine what degree I wanted to pursue when applying for college and I considered numerous options including occupational therapy, psychology, and journalism, but none of those paths felt like the right one for me. However, my senior year of high school my grandfather was diagnosed with a swallowing disorder. This introduced me to the world of speech-language pathology, and as I saw the progress my grandfather made and the impact his speech-language pathologist had on him, I knew I had found the right path for me. My goal is to build trusting relationships with my clients so that I can improve their quality of life and help them reach their goals, just as my grandfather’s speech-language pathologist had done for him.
